Mary Catherine Niggel
Mary Catherine Niggel, 100, of Butler died Wednesday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Aug. 18, 1911, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late Michael Morgan and Della (McCrea) Dorcy.
She worked at Andy McKain’s Grocery Store, previously known as Ham’s and also Stofford’s, for more than 28 years. Mrs. Niggel was a life member of the St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church. She graduated from Mount Aloysius Academy in 1930.
Surviving are a brother, Edward Dorcy of Phoenix; five stepbrothers, James R. (Gaylin Boone) Dorcy of San Diego, Michael M. (Kathleen Shannon) Dorcy of Seattle, Timothy J. Dorcy of Little Rock, Ark., Jermone (Cindy Miserez) and Clifford (Lucy) Dorcy, all of Omaha, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Niggel; two brothers, Michael and Leo Dorcy; two sisters, Margaret Newcaster and Josephine Edwards; stepsister, Carol Dorcy; and stepbrother, the Rev. Roger P. Dorcy.
NIGGEL — Friends of Mary Catherine Niggel, who died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, will be received at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the blessing service at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Father Harry Bielewicz will officiate. The interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Butler.
