County libraries hold events• SAXONBURG — The Friends of the Saxonburg Area Library will hold a used book sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the library on Main Street in conjunction with the Saxonburg Festival of the Arts.• MARS — Mars Area Public Library will begin Early Literacy Story Times on Monday at the library at 107 Grand Ave.Story time for ages 3 to 6 will be at 10:30 a.m. Mondays, 1 p.m. Tuesdays or 10:30 a.m. Fridays.Story Tots for infants and toddlers will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays.• FREEPORT — The Freeport Library will celebrate its 75th anniversary by holding open houses from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 13 and 14 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 15 at 428 Market St.There also will be a new-to-you sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 15.• CRANBERRY — There will be a teen Wii tournament from 6 to 7 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Cranberry Public Library, 2525 Rochester Road.The winner will get a GameStop gift card. Grant reference section availableThe Butler Public Library has partnered with the Foundation Center of New York to offer grant seekers information, training and tools.Through the library’s Foundation Center, patrons can access detailed information on grant makers and how to apply for grants.The library will also provide training sessions on how to effectively use these resources and to identify potential funds.
Church rummage sale scheduledSLIPPERY ROCK — The annual Second Hand Blessing rummage sale will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 14 and 15 at the All Saints Lutheran Church and Student Center, 351 S. Main St.
