Barbara Joan Lipnichan
Barbara Joan Lipnichan, 94, of Bruin passed away at 5:25 p.m. Monday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.
Barbara retired in 1999 from the USIS National Underground Mines in Boyers. She also was employed at the Karns City High School cafeteria.
She enjoyed playing with and reading to her grandchildren, crossword puzzles and prayer.
She was a member of the Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora.
She was born in Pittsburgh, Oct. 2, 1937, to Frank Summerill and Barbara McKeag Summerill.
She married Robert Lipnichan on July 4, 1961. He died in October 1997.
Surviving are her sons, Bob and Dixie Lipnichan of Bruin and Jeff and Karen Lipnichan of Hudson, Ohio; daughter, Lisa and Ken Kalberer of Butler; five grandchildren; sisters, Patty Bohin of Butler and Flo and John Pappas of California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Summerill and a sister, Peggy Frole.

Slippery Rock Sts., Chicora.A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church, Main Street, Chicora. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park, 380 Evans City Road, Butler.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Butler Area Public Library, Children’s Section, 218 N.
