Audra 'Fat' E. Wiles
Audra “Fat” E. Wiles, 85, of Butler passed away at 11:45 a.m Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 23, 1927, in Butler to the late Guy E. Wiles and Anna G. (Miller) Wiles.
He worked at Butler Armco, now AK Steel, in the melt shop and retired in 1989.
Mr. Wiles was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He also was a member of the VFW Post 249, the Highfield Community Center and the Butler Armco Employee Association. He enjoyed playing cards, camping, NASCAR, laughing and, especially, his grandchildren.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Wiles is survived by his wife, Beverly Ann (Gillen) Wiles of Butler; one son, William G. Wiles and his wife, Denise, of Freehold, N.J.; one daughter, Connie L. Wetzel and her husband, Doug, of Butler; five grandchildren, Megan Bush, Marc Bush, Derek Bush, Samantha Wiles and Zachary Wiles; and one sister, Marilyn Snyder of Butler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Ronald James Wiles; two brothers; and one sister.
WILES — Friends of Audra “Fat” E. Wiles, who passed away on Monday, July 23, 2012, will be received at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Patricia Nelson of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.
