HARRISBURG — Randy Vulakovich will officially be sworn in to the state senate Wednesday, which will mark the first time in more than a decade the 40th District hasn’t been represented by Jane Orie.

Vulakovich won a seat in the senate in a special election Aug. 7.

He replaces Orie, who resigned her seat earlier this year after being convicted in a political corruption case that involved the misuse of taxpayer funds.

She is currently serving a prison term.
