Barbara Melvina Schenkel Czintos, 74, of San Diego, formerly of Saxonburg, passed away Thursday in the San Diego Hospice Unit surrounded by family members.

Born in Allegheny County, Sept. 13, 1937, she was the daughter of Sarah Helen and Edwin N. Schenkel.

She was a graduate of Winfield-Clinton High School and received a degree in dental hygiene from West Liberty College in West Virginia.

She married Arpad Gabor Czintos on Dec. 26, 1960, in Richmond, Va. They were married more than 50 years.

She attended the Saint Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Carlsbad, Calif.

She is survived by her husband, Art; her son, Eric and his wife, Mary Chi, of Huntington Beach, Calif.; and three daughters, Mrs. Eva (Keith) Zugel of Springfield, Va., Mrs. Ingrid (Tom) Raeger of Reston, Va., and Mrs. Bridget (Sean) Engdahl of Lorton, Va.; two grandsons; and six granddaughters. Also surviving is her sister, Mrs. MaryJo (James M.) Burd of Saxonburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
