Sechan

Robert Carl Sechan, 85, of Portersville passed away at 1:54 a.m. today at his home with his loving family by his side.

He was born Sept. 10, 1926, in North Braddock, Allegheny County, and was the son of the late Robert Charles and Mary Kerchel Sechan.

Mr. Sechan was a member of the St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Prospect.

He started in the trucking business at the age of 15. He was well known for starting numerous other businesses throughout his life. He was a true entrepreneur.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ida Mae (Notaro) Sechan, who he married Aug. 31, 1945; his son, Robert J. “Beau” Sechan of Fort Lauderdale, Fla: three grandchildren, Robert J. Sechan II, Tiffany J. Sechan-Timoney and Shannon D. Sechan-White; four great-grandchildren, Jordan Sechan, Lauren Sechan, Brandon Sechan and Meghan Sechan; one sister, Lucille M. Skrak of Prospect; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Charles Joseph Sechan; his grandson, Brian Charles Sechan; and his three brothers-in-law, John Notaro, Charles Notaro and Robert J. Skrak.

SECHAN — Visitation for Robert C. Sechan, who passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect, PA 16052.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in the St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church, 229 N. Franklin St., Prospect, with Father Joseph Feltz, officiating. Entombment will be in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, North Lauderdale, Fla.
