Regis S. Streitman

Regis S. Streitman, 90, of Butler died early Friday morning at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

Born May 11, 1922, in Butler, he was a son of the late Henry and Barbara (Geibel) Streitman.

He worked as maintenance foreman in both the hot and cold mills for the Armco Steel Plant in Butler for 36 years, retiring in 1982.

He was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian, and for 23 years he lived 6 months every year in South Daytona Beach in Florida.

A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Air Force and in the U.S.A.F. Reserves, was in the Berlin Air Lift, the Korean War and also the Vietnam War.

Surviving are his wife, Susan (Pallo) Streitman, who he married Feb. 19, 1948; one brother, Francis Streitman and his wife, Wanda, of Cabot; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

STREITMAN — There will not be a visitation for Regis S. Streitman, who died Friday, July 13, 2012.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian. The Rev. James Murphy, pastor, will officiate.Inurnment will be in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park.Arrangements are entrusted to Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
