VA Butler Healthcare plans welcome for veterans at festival
Military veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan will be welcomed home as part of the second annual Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Big Butler Fairgrounds.
VA Butler Healthcare is sponsoring the event.
Volunteers will be handing out free tickets for drawings for items to any Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation New Dawn veterans from Butler County or surrounding counties.
At the fairgrounds, VA Butler will have information about VA services and programs at any Butler VA Healthcare and its outpatient sites.
VA staff will be there to help veterans of all eras and their families and will register new veterans for services.
Supporting the event is former Pittsburgh Pirate Grant Jackson, a member of the World Champion 1979 Pirates. He will sign autographs and pose for photographs with veterans on Saturday morning.
For information, veterans may contact VA Butler Healthcare’s OEF/OIF/OND Program Office at 800-362-8262, Ext. 2493, or visit www.butler.va.gov/freedom.asp or www.oefoif.va.gov.
