James J. Blose
James J. Blose, 80, of South Buffalo Township passed away peacefully Tuesday at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was born June 15, 1932, in Summerville, Jefferson County, to the late Addison and Leona Erb Blose.
He began his career at Myers and Johnson, Arnold, and had more than 50 years as a union sheet metal worker with nine of those years as a union business agent. He was a member of the Freeport Odd Fellows and the Freeport Golf League.
Jim loved golfing, fishing and hunting with his children, grandchildren and friends. He enjoyed square dancing at the Log Cabin in Cadogan and loved cooking and baking for his family, eating out and watching football and NASCAR. He traveled to Canada, Myrtle Beach, Fla., and the Midwestern states.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janet Fockler Blose; 10 children, Leona (Robert) Williams of Kittanning, James (Denise) Blose of Lower Burrell, Charles (Joanne) Blose of Leechburg, Kenneth (Sharon) Blose of Hermitage, Diane Shimp of Lower Burrell, Virginia (Joseph) Latini of Saxonburg, Jack (Gail) Blose of Sarver, Sharon (Peter) Turano of Lower Burrell, Daniel Blose and Gregory (Rebecca) Blose, both of Freeport; 32 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his sister, Donna Baker of San Cruz, N.M.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Juniaetta McKinney, and a brother, Harvey Blose.
BLOSE — The viewing for James J. Blose, who passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012, will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME, 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, 724-335-1234, where a service will be at 10 a.m. Friday. The burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. The Rev. Robert H.
