Virginia Marie 'Ginny' Yotti Carroll

Virginia Marie “Ginny” Yotti Carroll, 89, of Butler passed away Sunday at the VNA Hospice, Butler.

She was born at Magee Hospital, Pittsburgh, on Jan. 27, 1923, the daughter of Olga Morie and Joseph Yotti who lived in Forest Hills.

She attended school in Wilkinsburg, graduated from Wilkinsburg High School and was a secretary at Westinghouse Research, Forest Hills.

Ginny married Norman Carroll on Aug. 29, 1953, at the Forest Hills Presbyterian Church. Ginny soon became a Navy wife when Norm was recalled by the Navy just three months after their wedding. Upon his return two years later, Ginny and Norm lived in Bakerstown and later relocated to Butler in 1990.

Ginny worshipped at Presbyterian churches over the years and favored attending the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown.

Ginny’s survivors include her husband, Norman Carroll; son, Robert G. Carroll (Anita); granddaughters, Riley and Alayna Carroll; brothers-in-law, Keith L. Carroll and Robert E. Carroll; sister-in-law, Virginia Yotti; and cousins, Floyd R. Ganassi, Victor Ganassi, Glenn Ganassi, Sylvia Ganassi and Dolly Scheidhauer.

Ginny was preceded in death by her daughter, Laureen G. Carroll; brother, Herman Yotti; parents, Joseph and Olga Yotti; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

CARROLL — The family of Virginia Marie “Ginny” Yotti Carroll, who passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Schellhaas Funeral Home, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Ginny’s favorite charities were Hosanna Industries and the Lighthouse Foundation.
