Storm damage closes Rt. 173 near Slippery Rock
SLIPPERY ROCK TWP — Severe storms that moved the through Butler County caused a tree to fall down and block Route 173.
That occurred about 3 p.m. Thursday, and the tree brought electrical wires down with it, blocking both lanes of the highway.
Route 173 was closed at Route 8 as emergency crews prepared to remove the tree.
The storm brought wind, rain and lightning.
