Margaret E. Schach
Margaret Elizabeth Schach, 88, of West Newton, formerly of Evans City, passed away Wednesday in the comfort of her home.
Born March 21, 1924, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Margaret E. (Geist) Walter.
Mrs. Schach was a member of St. Matthias Catholic Church and the Evans City Senior Center. She enjoyed crafting and participating in the Evans City Oktoberfest. Above all, she was an admirer of flowers.
She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Jean Stafford and her husband, James “Terry,” of West Newton; her son, Matthias Edward Schach and his wife, Lucy, of Columbiana, Ohio; six grandchildren, Michael (Vikki) Stafford, Juliet (Brian) Kardos, Jody (Mike) Rantissi, Erin (Roy) Kowalski, Janine (Pete) McMahon and Matthias Schach; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her faithful four-legged friend, Snoopy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Matthias “Buzz” Schach, and her sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Naser.
SCHACH — The family of Margaret Elizabeth Schach, who died Wednesday, June 20, 2012, will welcome friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Boylan Funeral Home, 116 E. Main St., Evans City. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Matthias Catholic Church, Evans City, with the Rev. Lawrence R. Smith, celebrant. She will be laid to rest at the Butler County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the St. Matthias Catholic Church or the Evans City Senior Center, both at 417 E. Main St., Evans City, PA 16033.
