Normally a star on the mound, Saxonburg’s Nate Buttenfield delivered at the plate in a big way Friday evening.

He singled, homered and drove in three runs in a 6-2 victory over host Wexford in Eagle County League baseball play.

Dustin Lalle added a double and RBI and Evan Oswald two singles and one RBI for Saxonburg (24-8).

Eric Richards earned the win, striking out three and walking two in five innings.

The Eagle County league playoffs are slated to begin this week.
