Rains postpone racing

BUFFALO TWP — Lernerville Speedway and United Late Model Series officials postponed the ULMS Late Model and UEMS Emod show scheduled for Friday night the Sarver Oval.

A make-up date has not been announced for the event, but there was some news from Lernerville on Friday. Kevin Bolland, currently tied for third in the track’s Modified points standings, has been suspended for the rest of the year following an incident at the track July 13.

After Brian Swartzlander passed Bolland on the back straightaway of the final lap of the Modified feature that evening, Bolland’s car struck the back of Swartzlander and sent him spinning in Turn 4. Bolland crossed the finish line first, but was disqualified for rough driving.

According to http://DIRTcarUMP.com, Bolland was suspended until Dec. 31 for “rough driving,” “verbal abuse of a Lernerville Speedway/DIRTcar official” and “use of a two-way radio communication to driver.”

Swartzlander, who is second behind Slippery Rock’s Dave Murdick in the points standings, was placed on probation until Dec. 31 for being “involved in an altercation with another competitor.”
