Anna M. McCommon Withrow
Anna M. McCommon Withrow, 66, of Butler, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt to many nieces and nephews, went to be with her heavenly Father at 3:15 p.m. Monday in the intensive care unit at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in East Butler, on Oct. 23, 1945, she was the daughter of the late James A. McCommon and Stella M. Materniak.
She was a graduate of Butler Senior High in 1963. “Annie,” as most of her customers knew her, worked for various restaurants around Butler and ended her work career at the Colonial Gardens Personal Care Home. Anna was the happiest when her family and friends were around her. She was also a bingo fanatic and enjoyed going to Disney World and especially taking trips to Atlantic City.
Anna is survived by her husband, Aron Withrow, who she married on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 1985, in Winchester, Va.; one daughter, Liza (Prescott) McCune of Cabot; one son, Sam (Nikki) Day of Butler; two grandsons, Johnathan Deal of Sarver and Michael Deal of Herndon, Va.; one granddaughter, Ashleigh Day of Butler; two brothers, James A. McCommon and David M. McCommon, both of Butler; four sisters, Mrs. Karen L. (Ron) Hartman of Butler, Mrs. Sandra J. (Jerry) Day of Parker, Linda S. Desmond of Butler and Dorothy M. Early of Butler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Sam Day; and her brother, Thomas A. McCommon.
WITHROW — Friends of Anna M. McCommon Withrow, who passed away Monday, June 18, 2012, will be received at the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler.The St. Paul Catholic Women will meet at 9:35 a.m. Friday at the church to recite the rosary.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
