Laurene J. 'DeDe' Bellis
Laurene J. “DeDe” Bellis, 83, of Oakland Township died Wednesday at VNA Inpatient Hospice.
Born March 9, 1929, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Walter J. and Lena (Weiland) McDonald.
A homemaker, she formerly worked at Castle Rubber Co. and at the Bobbie Brooks plant.
DeDe was a member of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, Carbon Center, and was a gold member of the East Butler Ladies Auxiliary. She was a former bowler and a past secretary of East Butler Couples Bowling League.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward T. Bellis, who she married May 24, 1952, and who died Nov. 24, 1998; one sister; and two brothers.
Surviving are four sons, James E. and Colleen Bellis, John K. and Carole Bellis, Jeffrey L. and Terri Bellis and Jay F. and Susan Bellis, all of Butler; one daughter, Mary C. “MiMi” and Douglas Augustine of Butler; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one step-great- grandson; and two sisters, Mary “Mickey” (William) Bellis and Sally (William) Gahagan, all of Butler.
BELLIS — Friends of Laurene J. “DeDe” Bellis, who died Wednesday, June 13, 2012, will be received at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, Carbon Center, 210 St. Wendelin Road, Butler. The Rev.
