John Crummy smacked a two-run homer, Anthony Sklarsky a single, triple and two RBIs and Ryan Leonberg three singles to power Mars II to an 8-1 victory over the Legacy Lions in Eagle County League baseball action Thursday.

Nick Rossmiller picked up the win with four strikeouts in six innings of work.

Elsewhere:

• Evan Oswald, Kyle Hinderliter and Dustin Hilgar each had a single and RBI in Saxonburg’s 6-2 triumph over Freeport.

Jason Farren pitched three innings, striking out four to earn the win for Saxonburg (18-6).

For Freeport, Jake Yachovich had two doubles and an RBI and Jim Connelly two singles and an RBI.

• Brendan Malone collected nine RBIs in two games as Mars posted Eagle County baseball victories Tuesday and Wednesday.

Malone had two homers, two singles and five RBIs in a 21-8 victory over Freeport I on Tuesday. He added two doubles and four RBIs in an 8-2, eight-inning triumph over Mars II Wednesday.

Brian Zima was the winning pitcher for Mars on Tuesday, striking out six and working all five innings of the abbreviated contest. Mike Bruno had a homer, two doubles and a single, Bob Spithaler a homer and three singles, Mike Devine a homer, double and six RBIs.

Yachovich had a homer and two singles, Laird a pair of doubles for Freeport.

Phil Shallenberger had two singles and two RBIs and worked all eight innings on the mound Wednesday for Mars. He struck out five. Spithaler contributed two singles to the cause.

Gabe Stephenson and Randy Schuetz had two singles each for Mars II.
