Gaye D. Wiest
Gaye D. Wiest, 71, of Butler, passed away Thursday morning at her home, with her loving family by her side.
Born Nov. 17, 1940, in Butler, she was a daughter of Edwin E. and Modena Deal.
Gaye was a homemaker, also a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who lived her life putting her family above all else. A Roman Catholic, she was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian and had been a cancer survivor with the support of her family and friends for 11 years.
Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Francis L. Wiest Jr., who she married Jan. 13, 1962; a son, Todd F. Wiest, his wife, Darla, and their children, Todd Jr. and Jacqueline, all of Butler; two daughters, Jennifer B. Clawson, her husband, Paul, and their children, David, Grant and Victoria, all of Butler; Jill D. Tomlinson, her husband, Greg, and their children, Greg Jr. and Scott, all of Waynesville, Ohio; a brother, Edwin (Marylou) Deal of New Castle; four sisters, Daneen (Donald) King, Barrie (Michael) Smaretsky and Jenny (David) Forter, all of Butler, and Hope (James) Sisley of York, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a younger brother, William James Deal; and a niece.
WIEST — There will not be a visitation for Gaye D. Wiest, who passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler. The Rev. James Murphy, pastor, will officiate.Her family requests that donations in her memory be to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.Arrangements are entrusted to Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E.
