Brendan Malone had three hits and Bob Spithaler a double and two RBI to lead Mars to a 5-4 victory over Wexford Wednesday in Eagle County Baseball action.

Don Dell added a double and an RBI while Phil Shallenberger struck out seven batters in four innings of work.

Mike Calderone drove in two runs for Wexford.

On Tuesday, Spithaler singled, doubled and drove in two runs as Mars toppled Freeport II.

Malone added a single, double and an RBI for Mars (15-3). Mike Bruno also had a double for Mars.

Brian Zima picked up the win.

Freeport 5, Mars II 1 — Shawn Swartz hurled a complete game with five strikeouts and also singled and scored two runs.

Matt Simoni added a single and two RBI for Freeport (10-10-2).
