Shirley A. Schenck Hayden
Shirley A. Schenck Hayden, 75, of Butler passed away Friday at her home.
She was born July 30, 1936, in Butler, the daughter of the late Frank Lesko and the late Helen (Nagy) Lesko.
She was a retired nurse from Butler Memorial Hospital.
Shirley was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafts, bowling and golfing and was on several golf leagues. She was secretary of the Butler County Women’s Bowling Association for many years.
Surviving are her husband, Patrick B. Hayden, who she married March 17, 1989; two daughters, Debbie Smith and Butch Hutchison of Butler and Cindy (Bill) Walters of Butler; a son, David Schenck of Maryland; five grandchildren, Erann (Eric) Heltzell, Jason (Lyndsey) Smith and Katrina, Michael, and Thomas Walters; three great-grandchildren, Matthew and Mason Heltzell and Kinsley Smith; her dog, Abbie; five stepchildren, Mary, Beth, Boyd, Kevin and David Hayden; a sister, Mary Beth (Ron) VanDyke of Harrisville; and a brother, Frank “Fred” (Betsy) Lesko of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Cumblidge, and a nephew, Tony Keffalas.
HAYDEN — Friends of Shirley A. Schenck Hayden, who passed away Friday, May 25, 2012; will be received at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 3 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Clark T. Sawyer of Hill United Presbyterian Church officiating. A private interment will be in the Butler County Memorial Park.
