Repair work hinders traffic on Main Street

Contracted workers dug up part of Butler’s Main Street on Wednesday to replace a valve on a Pennsylvania-American Water main.

The project caused some traffic slow down as vehicles had to make their way around the work barriers.

The workers will return Thursday to dig up part of Jefferson Street to replace a corresponding valve, according to city Councilman Rick Schontz, who oversees the city’s streets department.
