PITTSBURGH — The Animal Rescue League of Western Pennsylvania is publicizing a letter it got from an anonymous man who claims he wrongfully collected $35 in the group’s name while panhandling.

He sent $35 to the group along with a letter signed simply, “A man trying to improve his life.” Staff says the letter was received months ago but was recently posted on the shelter’s Facebook page to let the man know all is forgiven.
