Charles J. Schmeider, 94, of Sarver passed away Tuesday at his home.

Born Jan. 1, 1918, in Butler, he was the son of Joseph William and Louise (Menken) Schmeider.

Charles was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired in 1980 from Pullman Standard, where he worked in the paint shop. Charles loved to shop at Freidman's, and he also enjoyed word-find puzzles, watching Lawrence Welk on television and animals.

Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Mary (Brake) Schmeider; his daughter, Mary Ann Schmeider of Sarver; his son, Larry Schmeider of Sarver, his brothers, David (Frances) Schmeider of Butler and Joe (Helen) Schmeider of Cabot; and his sister, Annabelle Nemeth of Butler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Matthew Judd officiating.
