John Melvin Keasey
John Melvin Keasey, 89, of Butler passed away at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday in the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born July 27, 1922, in Cabot, to the late Fred W. Keasey and Della Humes Keasey.
Mr. Keasey was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. He worked as a pipe fitter at Butler Armco, now AK Steel, retiring in 1984.
Mr. Keasey was a member of the Victory Lodge 694, the New Castle Consistory and the Syria Shrine. He was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Keasey is survived by his wife, Martha Kellar Keasey, who he married June 8, 1949; one son, David J. Keasey and his fiancée, Maria Stephenson, of Butler; two granddaughters, Jennifer Keasey Young of Chandler, Ariz., and Amanda Keasey of Phoenix, Ariz.; two great-grandsons, Brody Moore and Trent Moore, both of Chandler, Ariz.; one brother, Fred W. “Bill” Keasey Jr. of Peoria, Ariz.; one sister, Janet Keasey Antoszyk of Saxonburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen; and two sisters, Marilyn Keasey Sloane and Jean Keasey Herman.
KEASEY — Friends of John Melvin Keasey, who passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler. A funeral service will follow immediately at 8 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. William Jamieson of the Covenant Presbyterian Church officiating.Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E.
