Betty B. Curtis Simpson, 81, of Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sligo, passed away Sunday evening at Clarion Hospital following an illness.

Born on March 24, 1931, in Kittanning, she was the daughter of the late William (Sr.) and Elizabeth Mae Jones Curtis.

She worked for the former Glass Containers at Parker, operated a home security service and later cared for the elderly in her home.

Betty was a Protestant.

Surviving are a daughter, Pamela L. Simpson of Moore, Okla.; three sons, David Bruce (Lisa) Simpson of King George, Va., John C. Simpson of St. Petersburg, Pa., and Larry J. “Squirrel” (Tina) Simpson of West Freedom; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Danny DeRita; a grandson, Joshua Simpson; one sister, Pauline Shay; and two brothers, Rodney Jones and “Bill” Curtis.

<B>SIMPSON</B> — Friends of Betty B. Curtis Simpson, who passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012, may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Park Hill Church of God, Lime Plant Road, West Freedom, and at the church for an hour preceding the funeral. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church.
