JACKSON TWP — Seneca Valley has posted its opening for high school athletic director as Greg Caprara's contract will not be renewed.

Caprara, the Raiders' A.D. since 2004, has his contract expiring on June 29. No definitive timeline for a replacement is set.

“District officials have decided to move in a different direction and Mr. Caprara respects their decision to do so,” district spokesman Linda Andreassi said in a released statement.

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University pole vault standout Cameron Daugherty has been named PSAC Male Field Athlete of the Year.Daugherty graduated in May, but will return to The Rock for graduate school and his final year of eligibility. He won the Division II national championship when he cleared 5.15 meters.That marked the first national title for SRU men's track and field since 1997.
