HARRISBURG — A jury has been chosen in central Pennsylvania to hear the corruption case against former state Rep. Stephen Stetler.

The Patriot-News of Harrisburg reports (http://bit.ly/KSfhwB) two days of jury selection ended Thursday with the seating of 12 jurors and three alternates.

Stetler’s trial is to begin June 18 in Dauphin County.

The 62-year-old former York County lawmaker faces theft, conflict of interest and conspiracy charges. He is accused of using state legislative staff to do research for political campaigns.

Stetler denies wrongdoing. He is the only defendant in Pennsylvania’s widespread government corruption scandal with charges still pending.

So far, 12 Democrats and nine Republicans have been convicted or pleaded guilty.
