Jean Y. Love
Jean Y. Love, 86, of Zelienople died Tuesday at Passavant Retirement Community.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Mount Troy, Jean overcame childhood polio and went on to graduate from Pennsylvania College for Women, now Chatham University, in 1947. She enjoyed voice training and singing operatic arias during her high school and college years and had a lifelong love for classical music and the arts.
After graduation, she participated in the compilation and publishing in 1953 of the richly illustrated monograph “Wildflowers of Western Pennsylvania and the Upper Ohio Basin” through the University of Pittsburgh Press. She moved to Slippery Rock in 1962 when her husband joined the faculty of Slippery Rock University, and on his retirement they moved to Zelienople.
Jean is survived by her four nephews, John and Alan Husak and Kenneth and Andrew Love; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Duncan and Nina Love; and numerous cousins around the country.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Robert M. Love, and sisters, Rose Y. Cox and Ellen Y. Husak.

Jean's family will welcome friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday at the Seaman Memorial Chapel at Passavant Retirement Community, 401 S.
