Jean Varner Palmer
Jean Varner Palmer, 69, of Harmony went home to be with the Lord on Monday while under the care of Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.
Born Feb. 14, 1943, in Fombell, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Willa (Daufen) Varner.
Jean was an active member of the St. Peter's Reformed Church for many years. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan who also enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading and solving puzzles.
Jean was a loving and caring woman who loved life and was always focused on others' needs. This act of selflessness did not stop there. Above all she was an extremely proud and adoring wife, mother and grandmother who would go camping with her grandchildren and whose home was the gathering place for the holidays. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Tom Palmer, who she married on March 18, 1965; her three children, Bill Bennett and his fiancee, Lynn, of Zelienople, Doug Palmer and his wife, Erin, of Ellwood City and Heather Zeigler and her husband, Ed, of Renfrew; her three sisters, Doris Miller of Fombell, Ruth Kaufman of Ellwood City and Faye Hart of West Texas; her brother, Hal Varner of Virginia Beach, Va.; and 10 grandchildren, Kyler, Bailey, Alexis, Ryan, Travis, Taryn, Walker, Andrew, Lucy and Holly.
