Florence 'Flo' S. Cooper
Florence “Flo” S. Cooper, 82, of Cabot, formerly of Butler, passed away Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 16, 1929, in Jefferson County, the daughter of the late Allison B. Smith and Laura (Hetrick) Smith.
Flo was a member of the First United Methodist Church for more than 50 years and a member of the Asbury Sunday school class, and she was an active volunteer in church programs. She was a graduate of Grove City College. She worked as a secretary for her church and later as a teacher's aide in the Butler School District.
Surviving are her husband, William J. Cooper, who she married Aug. 10, 1957; a daughter, Ann Phipps of Butler; two sons, David (Anne) Cooper of Raleigh, N.C., and Scott (Kathy) Cooper of Canonsburg; and five granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Edwin Smith.
