Catholic school sets ground breaking ceremony Saturday
Ground will be broken Saturday afternoon for the Diocese of Pittsburgh’s new high school in Cranberry Township.
Bishop David A. Zubik will preside with representatives from the design and construction consultants, the Diocese of Pittsburgh, the board of directors of the new school, North Catholic High School, clergy and the community in attendance.
The formal dedication ceremony will come in early 2014. The diocese has said it hopes to open the school for the 2013-14 school year if construction could begin this spring.
The new high school is projected to hold more than 1,000 students, and officials anticipate the total project will cost $62 million to $67 million, with at least $46 million in construction costs.
