Miriam Ann Mooers, 79, of Covina, Calif., died Tuesday after a lengthy illness.

She was born May 18, 1932, in Butler to Joseph H. McClaine Sr. and Eva Belle McClaine of East Brady. She is a graduate of East Brady High School and the Grace Martin Business School in Pittsburgh.

Miriam worked as a secretary in Pittsburgh and Cleveland, Ohio, before relocating to Miami, Fla. There Miriam met the love of her life, John Mooers. They married in 1961 in Huntsville, Ala., while John was serving in the U.S. Army. They moved to Covina in 1963 and raised a family of four children.

Miriam is survived by her husband, John; her sons, Michael and John; her daughters, Barbara and Angela; five grandchildren; her siblings, Diane Miskiel of Long Beach, Calif., Joseph McClaine of East Brady, Jeanen Hall of East Brady, Thomas McClaine of New Bethlehem and Frederick McClaine of Butler.

MOOERS — Visitation for Miriam Ann Mooers, who died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, will be at the Oakdale Memorial Park Chapel, Glendora, Calif., at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, followed by the rosary.A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Church, Covina, Calif.
