John W. “Jack” Mills, 88, of Richland Township, Gibsonia, died Friday morning at LAS St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.

Born in Richland Township on Aug. 19, 1923, he was the son of the late Walter and Lillian Stockline Mills Sr.

Jack worked for 42 years for T. E. Hohman’s in Gibsonia and later was a manager for the Jim Hopper Cement Co. for 12 years.

He enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. He had been a social member of the Mars VFW Post 7505.

Surviving are his wife, June Kristian Mills, who he married on Sept. 20, 1947; five sisters, Mary Hornick of Middlesex Township, Florence Lawther (Harold) of Cranberry Township, Joan Almon of Valencia, Lillian McWilliams of Middlesex Township and Bessie Rowan of Mars; one brother, Edward Mills (Debbie) of Elderton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Mills Jr., and two sisters, Margaret Coon and Jean Adams.

MILLS — Friends of John W. “Jack” Mills, who died Friday, April 27, 2012, will be received at the

McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Hoogerbrugge officiating.
