BEAVER — Seneca Valley graduate Ashley Watkins, a senior on the Penn State-Beaver women’s softball team, was recently named to the USCAA Small College World Series All-Tournament team.
PSU-Beaver finished fifth in the tournament. Watkins hit .308 with a double, two RBI and several diving catches from her second base position.
For the season,Watkins hit .399 with 55 hits, 14 doubles, three triples, a home run and 38 RBI.
Grove City falls to Warren in D-10SLIPPERY ROCK — In the District 10 Class AAA baseball semifinals, No. 1 seed Warren doubled up Grove City 6-3 Friday at Slippery Rock University’s Critchfield Park.No other details were provided.Warren will face the Cathedral Prep-General McLane winner in the championship game Monday.

Fading McIlroy misses cut again VIRGINIA WATER, England — England’s James Morrison shot an 8-under 64 to take a four-stroke lead in the BMW PGA Championship, while Rory McIlroy had a 79 to miss the cut and leave himself in danger of losing the top spot in the world ranking to No. 2 Luke Donald.Morrison had a 12-under 132 total on Wentworth’s West Course in the European Tour’s flagship event.
