Shirley M. Trapp, 76, of Middlesex Township, Valencia, died Sunday evening at the Arbors at St. Barnabas, Gibsonia.

Born in Pittsburgh on Aug. 25, 1935, she was the daughter of the late William Brooks and Jane Wright Brooks Mathews.

Mrs. Trapp had worked in the shoe department at Ames in Richland Township and was a member of the Mars AARP and a social member of the Mars VFW.

Shirley was an avid bingo player, enjoyed bowling, camping and playing slot machines. She also collected clowns.

Surviving are her husband, Donald Trapp, who she married March 29, 1959; a daughter, Cheryl Valasek, and her husband Daniel, of Butler; two sons, William E. Trapp and his wife, Karen, and Michael D. Trapp, both of Middlesex Township.

Shirley also is survived by her grandchildren, Amanda Stavish (Joe), Kathryn Koch (Ed), Donald Trapp, Heather Trapp, Ashley Valasek and Derek Valasek; and her great-grandchild, Addyson Koch.

Shirley was the sister of Doris Scott (Joseph) of Mars and Donald Brooks (Grace) of Sarver. She was a stepsister of Florine Burr of Evans City and William Mathews (Nancy) and Ronald Mathews (Linda), both of Middlesex Township. She also is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her stepsisters, Darlene Durso and Marie Cassell.
