Some of Butler County's historical societies will waive admission charges from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Organizations participating are Washington's Trail, Slippery Rock Heritage Association, the Old Stone House, Prospect Area Preservation Society, Lancaster Township History Center, Evans City Historical Society, Providence Plantation, Mars History and Landmark Society, Valencia Area Historical Society and the Butler County Historical Society's Lowrie/Shaw House and the Little Red School House.

As part of National Bike Month, the Butler City Bike Commission is recognizing National Ride Your Bike to Work Day on Friday, part of National Ride Your Bike to Work Week.A cycling route has been established in and around Butler connecting Father Marinaro, Ritts, Memorial and Alameda parks.For more information on bicycling opportunities in Butler, brochures with the city route and Butler Freeport Trail are available at the City Building, the Butler County Chamber of Commerce or any of the Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau's brochure racks throughout the county.In addition, information can be found on the Butler Freeport Trail website, butlerfreeporttrail.org.

The movie “War Horse” will be shown at 7 p.m. May 25 at the Butler Public Library as part of Teen Movie Night.Children ages 12 through 18 and their parents are invited.
