Two residential rain barrel workshops will be available for the community to learn how to install and properly maintain rain barrels.
The first will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Spring Garden Market at Alameda Park. The second will be at 6:30 p.m. May 30 at the Butler Township Park Building.
Registration is requested by calling the Butler County Department of Recycling and Waste Management at 724-284-5305.
SAXONBURG -— The GFWC Saxonburg District Woman's Club will hold its annual rummage sale beginning at 9 a.m. Friday and Saturday at the Saxonburg VFW on Dinnerbell Road.There will be a bake sale and a bag sale after 1 p.m. Saturday.Anyone wishing to donate any new or gently used items, except clothing, can do so from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.Proceeds benefit local charities.
A children's hand-me-down bazaar will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the parish hall at St. Peter's Anglican Church, 218 E. Jefferson St.Gently used toys, clothing and furniture for children will be available for free.
The Butler Public Library will play host to two authors at 11 a.m. Saturday, 218 North McKean St.Lucy Rotunda will be at the library between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to discuss her new children's book, “The Mission”. She will also be available to sign books.Jonathan Auxier, author of children's book “Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes” will be at the Library starting at 1 p.m. to talk about his book. Auxier will entertain children with yo-yo tricks.Auxier will also be available to sign books.
