Donald E. Green, 79, of Evans City passed away on Sunday while under the care of the Creek Meadows Senior Guest Haus.

Born May 30, 1932, in Evans City, he was the son of the late Fred A. and Ioda P. (Barkey) Green.

Donald was a graduate of Evans City High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was an active member of the Grace Church of Harmony and was a drummer for the Resurrection Band for many years.

After 44 years of dedicated service, he retired from Mine Safety Appliances where he was involved with the Junior Achievement Program. In addition, he was an avid golfer and bowler in the MSA leagues.

He served on the Democratic Committee of Butler County, was an Evans City Borough Councilman, a member of the Lions Club of Evans City and a member of the Harmony Lodge 429 F&AM.

Above all, Donald was a devoted husband who admirably cared for his wife during her final years.

He is survived by his three sons, Douglas Green and his wife, Alina, of Pittsburgh, Brad Green and his wife, Brenda, of Mishawaka, Ind., and Donald Patrick Green of Evans City; his sister, Ethel Lloyd of Pomona, Calif.; two grandchildren, Emily Terracciano and her husband, Dan, and Nick Green; his great-grandson, Micah Terracciano; his stepgrandson, Robert DiBiase; and three step-great-grandchildren, Anthony, Isabel and Adrian.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Esther Marie Green, who he married on Sept. 29, 1955, and who passed away on Nov. 22, 2006; his three sisters, Shirley Rice, Chloe Yarnall and Donna Shearer; and his brother, James A. Green.

<B>GREEN</B> — The Green family will welcome friends of Donald E. Green, who passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the B<B>oylan Funeral Home</B>, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.Funeral Services will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Peter J. Everett officiating.
