A former prominent Butler County doctor, recently convicted of raping a boy during the 1990s, can no longer practice medicine.

The state Board of Medicine suspended the medical license of Dr. David Evanko, 58, temporarily, pending resolution hearings.

According to the suspension order issued May 2, the board determined Evanko’s continued practice “presents an immediate danger to the public’s health and safety.”

The records relating to the suspension say the issue of concern is the doctor’s conviction in criminal court.
