Ruby V. Gaiser

Ruby V. Gaiser, 80, of Greenville, Pa., passed away at 11:10 p.m. Saturday at the St. Paul’s nursing home.

Born Feb. 26, 1932, in Slippery Rock, she was the daughter of Vance Gaiser and Lorena (Covert) Gaiser.

She was a 1950 graduate of Penn High School, received her bachelor of arts degree from Thiel College and obtained a master’s degree in guidance counseling from Penn State University.

She was employed for 35 years as a guidance counselor at Hickory High School and retired in 1989. While at Hickory, she served as an adviser to many clubs and classes.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Greenville. She was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority and had memberships with PSEA and PASR. In addition, she was an officer with the Children’s Aid Society of Mercer County.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Dick Gaiser and E.D. Gaiser; a sister, Kathryn Campbell; and a best friend, Janice Johnson.

GAISER — A memorial service for Ruby V. Gaiser, who died Saturday, March 31, 2012, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 19, in the Friendship Commons of the Villas at St. Paul’s with the Rev. David A. Dobi, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
