East, West champs fall

The PSAC regular season Eastern and Western Division champions suffered losses Thursday and California was eliminated in the double-elimination PSAC Baseball Tournament being played at Pullman Park:

Millersville 6, California 2 — Tim Mayza allowed one run over seven innings and Kurt Seiders had three RBI for the Marauders (25-22-1), who scored six runs in the first two innings.

Kutztown 4, West Chester 2 — The East Division champion Rams (34-10) slipped into the loser’s bracket as Matt Albaugh drilled a pinch-hit three-run homer in the sixth inning. Damon Vallareo allowed two runs in six innings for Kutztown (34-15).

Shippensburg 7, Mercyhurst 3 — The West champion Lakers (36-14) fell victim to a complete-game effort by Nick Umberger, who struck out eight and walked none for Shipp (32-19). Seneca Valley graduate Eric Aschley took the loss, allowing 12 hits in seven innings.
