Lois Jean Knapp, 81, of Zelienople, formerly of O'Hara Township, passed away Tuesday at Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople.

Born June 17, 1930, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Harlowe and Sarah Might Ellerbrock.

Mrs. Knapp was a member of the Grace Church of Harmony and was a former member of the church choir. She attended Carnegie Tech, now Carnegie Mellon University, for three years, majoring in home economics, and spent the rest of her life applying what she learned. Mrs. Knapp was an expert seamstress and tailor, making many of her own outfits. She was a teacher's aide for the learning disabled students in the Fox Chapel School District for 10 years. Mrs. Knapp had a life-long love of music and was a wonderful cook and baker who loved to cook for her family and friends.

She is survived by a son, David Vernon (Carol Ann) Knapp of Forward Township; two daughters, Karen Elizabeth (James Richard) Koerth of Rockport, Mass., and Carol Susan (Gregory Paul) Flinn of Cranberry Township; six grandchildren, David James (Stacie) Koerth, Jason Richard Koerth, Melanie Carol Koerth, Jonathan David Knapp, Benjamin Joshua Knapp and Sarah Elizabeth Knapp.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Knapp, who passed away on Aug. 30, 2011.

<B>KNAPP</B> — Friends of Lois Jean Knapp, who passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at <B>Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home & Cremation Services</B>, 219 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Peter J. Everett, her church pastor, officiating.
