Della I. Sliker of Butler passed away at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.

She was born in Craigsville, Armstrong County, to the late Roy D. Simmers and Mabel I. Ruth Simmers.

Mrs. Sliker retired as a salesperson after 17 years at Montgomery Ward in Butler. She then worked part-time at Sears in Butler.

Mrs. Sliker is survived by her children, Van A. Sliker of Decatur, Texas; Vicki Sliker of Butler and Kathi Sliker Prospect; two grandchildren; one step-grandson; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Leona Ruffaner; a number of nieces and nephews; and her two dogs, Tessy and Roxy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard R. Sliker, who she married on June 21, 1947, and who passed away July 5, 2002. Her sister, Mrs. Freda Schaffer, also predeceased her.
