LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. — Siena College women's basketball junior captain Lily Grenci was named to the Division I-AAA Athletic Directors Association Scholar Athlete team.
Grenci, a graduate of Mars High School, was just one of 11 players chosen nationally.
Grenci was second in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in scoring average (15.2 points per game) and third in rebounding (7.8) and shot 76.3 percent from the free-throw line.
Grenci currently boasts a 3.83 GPA while majoring in Sociology.

NEW YORK — NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell heard the appeals of New Orleans coach Sean Payton, general manager Mickey Loomis and assistant coach Joe Vitt in the Saints bounty case.Payton left NFL headquarters without commenting after he met with Goodell to discuss the season-long suspension he received for his role in the bounty system. Loomis was suspended for eight games and Vitt for six. The Saints were fined $500,000 and docked two second-round draft picks.The former New Orleans defensive coordinator at the center of the bounties case, Gregg Williams, did not appeal.
DALLAS— Former Dallas Cowboys special teams coach Joe Avezzano, whose wild sideline antics made him a fan favorite when the Cowboys won three Super Bowls in the 1990s, died Thursday. He was 68.
