1 dead in condominium fire in Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH — Investigators say one person is dead following an early-morning condominium fire in Pittsburgh.
The fire was reported after 2 a.m. today and crews say two people in the Hill District residence got out safely but a third did not. They say that person may have stayed behind trying to put out the fire before being unable to escape.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, though preliminary indications are it started accidentally. Officials say there was a party at the condominium hours before but that it was over by the time the fire started.
The identity of the victim has yet to be released.
