Toomey dismisses vice presidential potential talk

CAMP HILL, Pa. — U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey is dismissing speculation that he could end up be as the vice presidential candidate on this year’s Republican ticket.

Toomey told reporters today that it is so unlikely that he would be asked that he doesn’t spend any time thinking about it.

Toomey has praised front-runner Mitt Romney’s economic plan, and today said he thought that Romney would govern as a conservative.

But he otherwise hasn’t endorsed a candidate in the Republican race for the presidential nomination.

The freshman senator was headlining an agenda of Pennsylvania’s largest annual gathering of conservatives, and delivered a 30-minute speech in which he attacked President Barack Obama’s record as hurting the ability of people to improve their lives.
