Slippery Rock University’s early 3-0 lead did not last long as Mercyhurst rebounded and went on to defeat The Rock 16-10 in women’s lacrosse action Thursday night at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.

The Lakers took an 8-6 lead into halftime before outscoring SRU 8-4 in the second half.

SRU’s effort was paced by Emma VanDenburg’s five goals and one assist. Amy Halls added a pair of goals and one assist.

The Rock (2-2, 0-2) will host West Chester at noon Saturday.
