Jay Cain Baxter

Jay Cain Baxter, 75, of Mars died Sunday morning in the LAS St. John Specialty Care Center, Mars.

Born in Pittsburgh on Dec. 30, 1936, he was the son of the late William and Pauline Mae Baxter.

He was a retired Braun Baking Co. Thrift Shop manager for 36 years, retiring in 1996. Jay enjoyed NASCAR and classic cars.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, who served at Okinawa.

Surviving are his wife, Diane Kress Baxter, who he married March 11, 1960; four daughters, Mrs. Dale (Diane) Hassinger of Prospect, Mrs. John (Deborah) Jabaut of Prospect, Mrs. Lonnie (Jayne) Yobst of Saxonburg, and Mrs. Matt (Tracy) Yendell of Mars; one son, Mr. Jason (Tina) Baxter of Lyndora; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, William Baxter, and a grandson, Matthew Cain Hassinger.

<B>BAXTER</B> — Friends of Jay Cain Baxter, who died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, will be received at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday.
