Rose Ann Konieczny, 88, of Butler, died Thursday night at the Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Pittsburgh, Aug. 29, 1923, a daughter of Michael and Elizabeth Mullen Dorsey.

Rose Ann was a member of the St. Fidelis Catholic Church in Meridian and the Christian Mothers of St. Fidelis. She enjoyed doing needlepoint, knitting and crocheting.

Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Edward R. Konieczny, who she married Feb. 28, 1946; four children and their spouses, Kathy R. (Len) Bloom of Saxonburg, Mark (Marilyn) Konieczny of Rochester, N.Y.; Matthew (Patricia) Konieczny of Butler and Michael (Denise) Konieczny of Butler; eight grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; one sister, Theresa Dorsey of Pittsburgh; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Konieczny; four sisters, Germaine Skalski, Betty Dorsey, Margaret Burns and May Fisher; and one brother, Dick Dorsey.

<B>KONIECZNY</B> — Friends of Rose Ann Konieczny, who died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, will be received at <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian, Butler Township. Her pastor, the Rev. James Murphy, will officiate. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.The Bereavement Committee of St. Fidelis Parish will conduct a parish prayer service at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
